WTF?  So my 3Com Sharkfin modem that I got from MEDIAONE like 6 years ago died.  I loved that modem.  It just would not connect.  So I had to go back to Comcast to get another modem.  They now have this RCA crap modems.  4 calls into support & I am finally up & running, kinda.  First of all, there is a stupid on/off button.  When you plug the damn thing in, all the lights goes on, so one would assume it is ON.  If it was not on it would be OFF, as in no lights.  Well apparently it was on standby mode.  There isn't an OFF feature, it is ON or in STANDBY only.  I found that out my last call.  That pissed me off.

So almost Net+ certified & I can't even get my damn internet connection running at home.  I only got this running by bypassing the router.  I need more time to figure out the router issue.  I changed the MAC address on the router, that should have worked.  I think I just need to unplug everything & then slowly plug things back to make the router recognize them again.  So for now, this computer is connected directly to the modem & is working.  Now I gotta go to work.  :(  I do not want to go to work tonight at all.
